Frequently asked questions
Where we've got to, what we're growing, and how ordering will work. Can't find your answer? Reach out and we'll help.
Not yet. VerdeNova is still being built – the growing rooms are going in and nothing has been harvested. You can browse the range and see the prices we'll open at, but the checkout won't take an order and nothing will be charged. Join the newsletter and you'll hear the moment it opens.
When the first crops are good enough to sell, and not before. Microgreens take one to three weeks a cycle, but a new farm needs several cycles before the quality is consistent enough to put a price on. We'd rather tell you what stage we're at than promise a date we'd have to move.
Because they're the plan, and we'd rather show it than hide it. Strawberries and tomatoes are fruiting crops: they want longer cycles, more light and more headroom than a tray of microgreens, so they come after the first green rooms are running. Anything on the site marked 'Later' is a crop we intend to grow, not one we can supply.
Microgreens are young vegetable greens harvested just after the first true leaves appear – usually 7 to 21 days after germination. They carry a more intense flavour, and some microgreens can hold higher concentrations of certain nutrients than the full-grown plant – depending on the species and the growth stage.
Keep them refrigerated in their original packaging or an airtight container. Because we'll harvest to order rather than to a shelf, your greens are cut the morning they go out instead of spending days in transit to a shop. How long they hold after that is something we haven't measured yet – we'll publish the tested shelf life for each crop before we open.
No. That is a decision, not a happy accident of the building: we grow without pesticides or herbicides, and we will not start. Growing indoors makes it a far easier promise to keep – nothing arrives from a neighbouring field, and there is no chemical runoff to manage – but pressure indoors is lower, not impossible, and it is handled by cleaning, airflow and throwing a tray away rather than by spraying it.
We're starting with Porto and the surrounding metro area, since growing in the city is the entire point. Exact coverage will be confirmed before we open – if you're just outside it, tell us and it helps us decide where the first routes go.
Choose your greens and a delivery cadence – weekly or fortnightly – and we handle the rest, with the option to pause, skip, or cancel any time from your account and no lock-in. Subscriptions open when the shop does.
Not yet, but this is the best moment to talk to us. Early wholesale accounts get planned into the growing calendar before we seed, which shapes what we plant and how much. Visit our Business page and tell us what your kitchen needs.
